WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, has finally introduced a feature that many iPhone users have been eagerly anticipating: picture-in-picture (PiP) mode for video calls. This feature lets you shrink your video call window and access other apps on your phone without disrupting your conversation. You can also adjust, hide or close the PiP window as you like.
To use this feature, you need to have an iPhone running iOS 12 or later and update your WhatsApp app to the latest version (23.3.77). Once you do that, you can enjoy multitasking on your video calls with ease. You can check your emails, browse social media, play games or do anything else while staying in touch with your friends and family on WhatsApp.
WhatsApp’s PiP mode also works smoothly with other iOS features, such as Siri and Do Not Disturb mode. For example, if you receive a message while on a video call, Siri will read it out loud for you without pausing the video stream. If you enable Do Not Disturb mode, you can silence all notifications except for WhatsApp calls.
This feature was first tested by WhatsApp last year and was available only for beta users. Now, it has been officially launched for all iOS users and has received positive feedback from them. Many users have appreciated WhatsApp for adding this feature and making their video calls more convenient and fun.
WhatsApp is known for constantly updating its app with new features and improvements. Some of the recent additions include sharing up to 100 images or videos at once, adding captions to documents, sending high-quality media files and creating avatars. With PiP mode for video calls, WhatsApp has once again proved that it is one of the best messaging apps in the market.
