Google is enhancing the privacy options for its users with the potential introduction of a new feature called “Quick Delete” on its Chrome browser for Android. This feature was discovered on Chromium Gerrit and would allow users to erase their browsing history faster.
Earlier in the year, Google introduced a similar feature in its Android app which enables users to delete their search and account activity in the last 15 minutes with a single button press. This convenience removes the need to navigate through settings.
However, for those who prefer complete privacy, they can opt for Chrome’s Incognito Mode or switch to a privacy-focused browser that does not store any information. Using a VPN can also provide an extra layer of security.
It is yet to be seen if the “Quick Delete” feature will only allow the deletion of browsing history or cover other account activities as well. Currently, it has only been spotted on the Android version of Chrome, but it is likely that iOS, PC, and Mac users will also have access to it in the near future.
