It seems that the tech world is already buzzing about the upcoming Google Pixel 7a, as prototype units of the smartphone have already surfaced on eBay, months ahead of its anticipated launch date.
Available for purchase at a hefty price of $2550 (roughly Rs 2,10,400), the Google Pixel 7a prototype device listed on eBay confirms earlier leaks of the phone’s design. A horizontal visor on the rear panel houses a dual-camera setup and LED flash, while the front features fairly narrow bezels and a hole-punch cutout at the top center.
The prototype units reveal some notable upgrades from the previous Pixel 6a model, including 8GB of Samsung LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of storage from SKHynix. The Google Pixel 7a is expected to feature a 6.1-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with support for a 90Hz refresh rate, a 12MP main camera, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. There are even reports that it will boast an upgraded 64MP primary camera sensor.
Despite the buzz and excitement, the seller on eBay does note that the phone does not turn on and cannot be used. However, for those who are eager to get their hands on the latest Google Pixel smartphone, this is an opportunity to own a very rare and collectible device ahead of its official release.
The Google Pixel 7a is expected to launch later this year, with the release date speculated to be in May at the Google I/O 2023. Whether or not the Pixel 7a prototype on eBay will impact the phone’s official launch remains to be seen, but it’s certainly adding more excitement and anticipation to the already highly-anticipated device.
